II. Theology Graduate Students Symposium Held at Our Faculty

 

The II. Theology Graduate Students Symposium, hosted by Bolu Abant İzzet Baysal University Faculty of Theology, was held on April 11-12, 2025.

In the opening session, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ahmet Uğurlu, member of the Symposium Advisory Board, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Yakar, Vice Director of the Graduate Education Institute and Vice Dean of our faculty, delivered speeches. In the closing session, moderated by Prof. Dr. Muammer İskenderoğlu, evaluation speeches were delivered by Prof. Dr. Cahid Kara, Prof. Dr. Şaban Karasakal, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ayşegül Yılmaz. Afterwards, the Dean of our faculty, Prof. Dr. Bilal Gökkır, gave a general assessment speech emphasizing the importance of participating in academic meetings face-to-face and engaging in scholarly consultations.

Graduate students from various Turkish cities, including Istanbul, Kocaeli, Mersin, Bartın, Çankırı, Trabzon, Samsun, Konya, and İzmir attended the symposium. A total of 34 speakers presented their papers in eleven sessions covering various fields such as Quranic exegesis (tafsir), hadith, Islamic theology (kalām), mysticism (tasawwuf), Qur'anic recitation (qira'at), Islamic philosophy, psychology of religion, and history of religions.

The snowfall experienced in Bolu during April provided a delightful surprise for participants arriving from outside the city. Participants enjoyed the snowy landscapes of Bolu.

Following the closing session of the symposium, a meal was served at the Faculty building.
