Our Faculty Dean at the Commemoration Program for “Sarı Müderris and Karaca Mehmed” in Çukurören Village

A mevlid program was held at the Karaca Mehmet Tomb in Çukurören Village of Bolu to commemorate Sarı Müderris, a student of the 15th-century Sufi Ümmi Kemal who served as an imam and spiritual guide in the village for nearly half a century, and Karaca Mehmed, who is also buried in the village.

The program, which featured Qur’an recitation, hymns, and prayers, attracted great interest from the local community.

Prof. Dr. Şaban Karasakal, Dean of the Faculty of Theology at Bolu Abant İzzet Baysal University (BAİBÜ), also attended the event. Emphasizing that such spiritual gatherings strengthen social unity and solidarity, Karasakal extended his thanks for their hospitality to the villagers, particularly retired BAİBÜ lecturer İsmail Hakkı Akyologlu and Çukurören Village Headman Engin Turpçu.

The program concluded with visits to the tomb and offerings.
